How It Works.
This O2 Simulator works on conpetitive racing vehicles by moving the post cat oxygen sensor out of the direct exhaust flow. It effectively reduces the amount of exhaust gas exposed to the oxygen sensors tip to that of a normal production street vehicle. This O2 Simulator usually clears the p0420 and p0430 check engine light codes (cel), if the p0420 or p0430 cel is illuminated the engine control unit (ecu) will put the vehicle into "linp mode" (safe mode) resulting in poor performance and gas mileage, not to mention it's pretty annoying seeing that check engine light on all the time.
Where Is It Installed?
O2 Simulators are only installed on the post cat (rear) oxygen sensors usually located at or slightly past the catalytic converter. Vehicles have either one or two post cat oxygen sensors and an o2 simulater should be installed on each post cat sensor to remove p0420 and p0430 check engine light codes for a bad or missing catalytic converter.
FITMENT, will it fit my vehicle?
This O2 Simulator is threaded 18mm x 1.5 which is the size on 99% of vehicles produced. Check your owners manual, performance data or just crawl up under there, locate the post cat sensor and put a 7/8 inch or 22mm wrench on the hex portion of the oxygen sensor if the wrench fits then you have 18mm x 1.5 threads. Correct fitment is your responsiblility, please take the time to check.
Clearance, how much room is needed for installation?
The only issue for clearance is the length of the O2 Simulator and Oxygen Sensor combined as measured from the exhaust pipe to the oxygen sensors wire tip. This length is 4.5 inches (115mm) so imagine your presently installed oxygen sensor is 2 inches longer then it is, thats how much clearance you need to install this type O2 Simulator. It is your responsibility to insure there are no clearance issues.
How is the O2 Simulator Installed?
The O2 Simulator simply screws into your existing exhaust pipe using the same thread port where your post cat sensor is located. Installation is easy, first disconnect the oxygen sensor and unscrew it. Second, screw back in the O2 Simulator, then screw in the oxygen sensor, reconnect the oxygen sensor, thats it your done.

Big Daddies O2 Simulator's are made from T304L Stainless Steel the same stainless steel as your modified exhaust pipes, They are not ZINC PLATED CARBON STEEL like those sold by others on other internet sites, Amazon and eBay. Most all other sellers parts are modified from other bolts or water fittings, usually they are starting to rust or rusted when you receive them. Rule of thumb is if it's plated or modified from water fitting then it will rust real fast.
What you need to understand is that Zinc Plating begins to Blister and Flake at 320 degree's. Once this begins the Plating will fall off, or Blacken then Immediatly begin to Rust. Your Exhaust System will reach and Exceed 620 degree's and Remain at this Temperature While in Operation. Your O2 Sensor begins operating at 600 Degree's and usually has a heated wire to reach this temperature quickly. Once the Zinc Plated Carbon Steel Adapters rust inside your pipes, they become Saturated with Exhaust Contaminates and once again you throw a Cel and go into open loop (limp mode).
